Peace Corps service is a 27 month commitment - 3 months of pre-service training followed by 2 years of service. Peace Corps is an independent US federal agency, they work in over 70 countries. Volunteer opportunities are available in 5 different sectors: Education, Health, Agriculture/Environment, Business, and Community Development. Assignments vary from English teaching, farming, youth development, to business consulting and NGO capacity building/development.

Your flights to and from country, your living expenses (modest), all your health care needs, will fly you back to the states for a family or medical emergency, and a modest readjustment allowance for your entry back in to the states.
